Exhausta

The Exhausta concept reframes the familiar language of travel marketing to expose the environmental consequences often hidden behind aspirational imagery. Instead of promoting idyllic escapes, it foregrounds emissions, overconsumption, and ecological damage, creating a stark contrast between expectation and reality. Acting as a critical storytelling tool, the project adopts the visual and verbal cues of traditional travel brands—reworking them to highlight the true cost of each journey. Destinations are presented not through beauty or leisure, but through their environmental impact, inviting viewers to reconsider the narratives they are typically sold. Through motion and print, the project elevates this critique beyond a static message, using pacing, sequencing, and materiality to create a visually compelling yet uncomfortable experience. It transforms travel promotion into a space for reflection, encouraging audiences to question the industry’s role in shaping perceptions of sustainability.
